We make the tiles.
So we made the care.
Pavilion Four is the care line of a mahjong workshop in Guangzhou that has been building acrylic sets for North American buyers for years. Care products came second — because our buyers kept asking what to tell their customers.
Everyone publishes the guide. Nobody sells the product.
American mahjong brands write long care guides — what to use, what never to use — and then send their customers to a supermarket aisle where every product on the shelf is wrong for a painted tile. Alcohol wipes. Glass cleaner. Furniture polish.
We already make the tiles, so we know exactly what the surface can take: which solvents lift the print, how deep the engraving sits, what heat does to acrylic in a car in July. Building the product was the obvious next step. The harder part was keeping it honest — no disinfectant claims, no "restores like new", no ingredient that we would not put on our own sets.
Same building, same material, same standards.
Our sets are cut, polished and printed on the same floor as the care line. That means the cloths are tested against the exact acrylic we ship, the foam is checked on our own printed faces, and a batch that fails a wipe test never leaves the building.
What we will and will not claim
Mahjong has real cognitive and social benefits, and there is credible research behind that. We do not use it to sell cleaner. A tile care product cleans tiles; that is the whole promise.
We also do not claim to disinfect, sanitize or kill germs. Those are regulated claims in the United States, and a pH-neutral surfactant formula is not a disinfectant. What it does is remove the oils, chalk and cosmetics that make a set feel dirty and look dull — and it does that without touching the print.
Where the products are made
Guangzhou, China, in a facility that also produces acrylic tile sets for North American buyers. Liquids are filled by a partner line with the documentation required for export: English MSDS, non-hazardous classification report, and stability data for sea freight.
Why we sell direct
Care is a repeat purchase. Selling it through a distributor adds a margin without adding a reason — and it keeps the care card, the guide and the product in separate hands. Direct lets us keep the instructions and the formula together.
